Rock Your Story: Tour + Modus Operandi

Hey all,

Everybody’s been through something – the difficult, and the beautiful.  Whatever it is, I say you don’t just look back on your story, you don’t even just tell your story – I say you rock your story!  Rock it like your new Converse (or scarf – whatever you wanna wear most), make something out of it, and then write the next page.

In that spirit, I’m now rockin’ the story of Postmodern Love.  Check it out!

If you’ve listened to the album, I hope this story gives you another perspective on it.  If you haven’t heard the album, all the stories are accompanied by song-streams.

Fast Times – Day 5, the Last – Story Time!

So it happened like this….one day a girl woke up to a world abuzz.  Righteous revolution is at hand!

Pow!  “I want some of this action!” she declared.

“Freedom!  Justice!  Revolution!  The needs of the suffering will be met!”

“I’ll have my own revolution, right here in my room.”  For 5 days she ate only citrus fruit, contemplated the freedom of the eternal soul, fed the ducks down the street, played her ukulele wildly, cried cathartically, sent funny letters to friends, kept a blog, and determined her own future!

Fast Times – Day 4 Update – Letting, Go!

Everyone has a different thing to contribute to the world.   Can’t do it all – can only be in one place at a time.

the day 4 fast experience…

Today was easier.  I slept well, ate my oranges, worked.  I’ve pretty much pooped everything out now. Lookin forward to eating tomorrow!

Started getting closure, too…

Fast Times – Day 3 Update – Remembering

The thing about fasting is, you get a little bit of that “live like you were dying” point of view – take nothing for granted, remember what is really most important to you, express your truest feelings, bring what you most want to see in to the world each day.

Fast Times – Day 2 Update – Think Globally, Dance Locally

Hey all, second day on the pomello/citrus fast has been a trip.  I’m keeping my feet on the ground, an eye on the events of the world, and an eye on the prize – clearer perspective on my next steps as an artist.  (Which may include “chilling out.”)

first, The Day 2 fast experience…

Fast Times!

“seeking illumination about my role as an artist, and acknowledging protests in Egypt around the availability of food (etc.), I’m beginning a week-long mono-food fast (pumello), ending next Sunday, 5pm.” – Facebook wall announcement & keynote, yesterday

- – -

Yesterday I started a mono-food fast ’cause I’m looking for answers.  So what do you do if you want perspective?  Starve yourself!  Ok, not really, but fasts are an awesome tool.  Ghandi was all about ‘em.

I’m looking for answers about how to best participate in the community as an artist – both the local and international communities, so here goes…

Christmas in the City In Your Heart

Hey ya, happy holidays!

Since it’s Christmas time, and everybody’s drinking egg (or soy/rice) nog and hugging each other, I’d like to get a little more….tactile with the post – then wax timeless-love with a few cues from “City In Your Heart,” (you can hear it here.)

Your Soul Shining

Hey, welcome back to the blog!

Now, for more on love, life, death, and the songs on the album…

- – -

If Postmodern Love is about being infused with the power of love, then why the tinge of pain and angst in some songs?  Take, “Soul Shining,” (listen here) for example –

This is your soul shining

This is your final hour

This is your soul shining

Use the power!

throw a revolution – a new blog

[Note:  this blog name was later dropped in favor of my generic Parzival - News blog.  The spirit of the name remains, though!]

Hi,

I’m Parzival.  I’ve just put out a record, Postmodern Love, that I’ll be commenting on in this blog.  If you haven’t heard it, check out this song to start with. If you have heard it, take a step inside with me…

Why the name “throw a revolution” for a blog?  Well first of all, it’s a song on the record, basically about throwing a dance party.  But why wax revolutionary about dancing in the first place?
